The Barber
The story of Salvador Renteria spoken in his own words.

The Barber
Cabernet Sauvignon
Single Barrel Reserve
Salvador Renteria’s passion for attention to detail inspires this single barrel production. Rigidly sorted clusters of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are hand-picked and fermented in a Taransaud barrel, followed by extended aging of 30 months. This massively structured wine’s concentrated flavors expand and evolve through decanting. This wine will cellar well for 12 or even 20 years.
Familia Members have exclusive access to purchase this limited release wine through fully customizable shipments twice per year.

Our Story
Our journey began in 1962, when Salvador Renteria stepped off a bus at a small market in Rutherford, CA. A barber by trade, Salvador sharpened new skills by working in vineyards and went on to found one of the most prominent vineyard management companies in Napa Valley. His company became an indispensable farming force with a tradition that continues generations later.
When the time came to create a treasured collection of wines, Salvador knew it would be his granddaughters, his Tres Perlas, who would be the inspiration.
Our Story
In 1962, a barber from Jalisco, Mexico came to Northern California. The road to Tres Perlas started in the vineyards. There he worked with some of the pioneers of the Napa Valley wine growing business.
Taking the skills learned in the vineyards, Salvador Renteria, and his wife, Luisa, built one of the most important vineyard management companies in the valley.
Their son, Oscar Renteria, continues the family mission today with his wife Denise. The company is known for bringing innovations to farming practices and the well-being of farm workers.
After 60 years of working the vines for others, Oscar secured the family’s first deed to an estate vineyard. The family’s journey to Tres Perlas was complete.
Tres Perlas wines are inspired by Oscar and Denise’s three daughters, the “three pearls.” The best grapes are hand-selected to make small batches of wines of exceptional quality and character.
OSCAR + DENISE RENTERIA
FOUNDERS
Oscar likes to think ahead. how to implement new vineyard technologies, improve the vineyard workers’ way of life, and discover new ways to celebrate with his family are always on his mind. People are drawn to him for his vision, energy and imagination.
Denise brings balance to Oscar, their family, the vineyard management company, and Tres Perlas. Their three daughters, Bella, Mia and Gabriella are the inspiration behind Tres Perlas. Denise’s sense of style and warm personality inspires the feeling of our brand.
SALVADOR RENTERIA
THE BARBER
Salvador came to the valley equipped with an instinctual ability to bring people together and a deep understanding of how to guide vineyards to greatness. This earned him the respect of famed vintners like andré tchelistcheff, Rick Forman and Mike Walsch. These pioneers saw that Sal’s dedication to detail and his Hispanic heritage allowed him to work with both winemakers and vineyard workers.
First as a field laborer, then as a supervisor and manager, Sal would become an indispensable leader. Eventually, he would oversee large growing regions across the valley. In 1987, Salvador began Renteria Vineyard Management, one of the first Mexican-owned farming companies in Napa Valley. Along with his son Oscar, they continue a tradition of meticulous farming, loyal relationships and stewardship.
KIRK VENGE
WINEMAKER + FRIEND
Remarkable things can happen when farmer and winemaker speak the same language. Kirk and Oscar can spend hours in the vineyard poring over the details of winegrowing.
Growing up in Rutherford, and surrounded by some of the world’s best vines, Kirk’s first memories are of the heat of harvest and the cool smell of a wine cellar. Kirk’s philosophy is simple, “understanding a specific vineyard and the hidden potential of a site is imperative to optimizing the quality of wine that can be made.”
Long before he earned a degree at the University of California, Davis, winemaking was central to Kirk’s life. When he returned home, he developed Venge Vineyards with his father Nils, a winemaking pioneer and icon.

PAYING IT FORWARD
The Renteria Family supports several not for profit programs dedicated to Napa’s agricultural community and its farm workers. Working the land was how Salvador Renteria came to love the earth, the vines and wine. It continues to be the foundation of everything the Renteria family does today.
Click the read more button for short descriptions of four of the organizations we are proud to support that provide education, opportunity and assistance to farmworkers and their families.
The Napa Valley farmworker Foundation
Without the dedication of farm workers, Napa Valley would not be able to set the standard for world-class viticulture practices and produce wines that are world-renowned. Through education and opportunity, The Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation is committed to changing lives for the better. Oscar & Denise Renteria are serving as the co-chairs of the 2021 Harvest STOMP Event benefiting Napa Valley Grape growers and the Farmworker Foundation.
Puertas Abiertas
An integrated community center that proactively opens doors for the Latino community. Their programs include literacy, free tax clinics, form filing assistance for housing, immigration service information and referrals, and disaster relief assistance. Inspiring self-sufficiency contributes to a happier, healthier and more economically vibrant community.
California Farm Labor Contractors Association
Farm labor contractors (FLCs) account for well over 50% of California’s agricultural labor force. CFLCA’s mission is to cultivate growth and viability for the industry. CFLCA provides over $50,000 a year in educational scholarships to children of farm workers.
Napa Valley Community Housing
The mission of Napa Valley Community Housing is to develop, preserve and manage affordable homes and, through a resident services program, teach life and leadership skills.
